Williams Sound FM 557 PRO Listening Device

The Williams Sound FM Plus Audio System is one of the first assistive listening devices to combine FM and wifi listening into one input system. Whether for conferences, church meetings, or any other gathering that requires listening aids, the FM Plus systems make it easy for participants to connect through traditional FM devices or their smartphones.

FM 557 Pro Listening System Overview

The FM 557 Plus Assistive Listening System is an easy way to make the audio available to most modern audience members. As with all Williams Sound devices, the FM Plus and Pro systems offer excellent audio quality using a DSP (professional digital audio) platform. Listeners can tune in on their smartphone or using an FM receiver. The FM receiver can be any legacy Williams Sound receiver that operates on a 72-76 MHz bandwidth. The FM plus also comes with an optional Dante interface providing integrators with a full audio networking solution.

FM Signal Use

The simplest method for using the FM 557 is with its audio channels. First, the FM transmitter simply needs to be hooked up to an audio source. This can be to a sound system connected to the speakers, a microphone, or another audio broadcast system. Once the audio system is connected, and the FM antenna installed on top, sound can be transmitted to compatible receivers. Wifi Signal Use

Using a local router and network, the FM Plus can send audio directly to participants' devices. Listeners simply need to download the WaveCAST app, which is available on both Android and IOS, and connect to the same wifi network connected to the FM Plus transmitter. The listeners can then open their app, and available stations will be shown. They can select them and begin listening.
