How to Assemble the Motif Twist

• Step 1: Wash your hands and sterilize every pump part before assembling your Motif Twist (see cleaning directions below).
• Step 2: Snap and flatten the membrane into the valve.
• Step 3: Place the valve into the connector. Ensure the seal is fully tightened before moving on to the next step.
• Step 4: Optional: Attach the massage pad onto the breast shield connector.
• Step 5: Attach the diaphragm to the top of the connector.
• Step 6: Attach the diaphragm top to the top of the diaphragm.
• Step 7: With the tubing still attached, insert the tubing connector into the diaphragm.
• Step 8: Screw the storage container onto the connector.
• Step 9: Locate the tubing port on the breast pump. Insert the tubing connector into the tubing port.
• Step 10: Insert the power cord's DC connector into the pump's DC port on the pump.
• Step 11: Insert the USB into the USB socket adaptor; then plug it into a power outlet.
• Step 12: When you are finished pumping, store your breast milk in the refrigerator immediately.

How to Operate the Motif Twist Double Electric Breast Pump

Pump Preparation

• Step 1: Before touching any of the components, use warm soap and water to wash your hands.

• Step 3: Ensure that each part that comes into contact with breast milk is suitably sanitized.
• Step 4: Follow instructions to assemble the bottle, diaphragm, and breast shield. Connect the diaphragm, tubing, and pump body.
• Step 5: Check that the tubing is connected tightly.
• Step 6: Use a warm towel to massage the breast for about five minutes to encourage breast milk expression.
• Step 7: Check the battery level before use to ensure the device is fully charged.

 

Using the Twist Pump

While using your Motif Twist, maintain an upright position to prevent milk from back flowing.

• Step 1: Place the breast shield on your breast so that your nipple is centered within it. (Refer to the troubleshooting section to learn more about finding the correct breast shield size).
• Step 2: Turn the breast pump on to begin pumping.
• Step 3: Ensuring proper letdown is vital to successful expression. To achieve letdown, begin pumping with the dial set between "Min" and the midpoint of the dial.
• Step 4: Once letdown is achieved, increase suction by turning the dial to any point between the midpoint and "Max" -- this will allow you to transition to expression mode.
• Step 5: Normal pumping durations last between 15 to 30 minutes but varies between mothers.
• Step 6: After your pumping session, turn off the power and slide a finger between your breast and the breast shield to separate them.

 

How to Clean the Motif Twist

Before Initial Use

Sanitize each part before using the Motif Twist Double Electric Breast Pump for the first time.

Post-Use Cleaning

• Step 1: Before handling any breast pump parts, wash your hands thoroughly.
• Step 2: Account for each part that comes into contact with breast milk (the bottle, bottle nipple, tubing, tubing connector, connector, and valve). Disassemble these parts.
• Step 3: Use cool water to rinse the milk residue off of each part.
