Description

Who Uses the Kinevia Duo Excercise Therapy System? This rehabilitation device is primarily used by residents or patients in nursing homes, long-term care, and physical therapy.

Why They Love It? The Kinetic Kinevia Duo Machine has active and passive training modes that make the machine accessible to those with mobility limitations and medical conditions such as multiple sclerosis or Parkinson's disease. The access/exit aid positions the foot cuffs so it's easier to get on and off, and the pedal width and radius are adjustable for user comfort. This intelligent machine gives immediate feedback about the training session, helping users, caregivers, and physical therapists track progress.

Kinevia Duo Excercise System Overview

The Kinevia Duo Excercise Therapy System is a rehabilitation device that offers highly accessible arm and leg exercises with both passive and active settings. It is a popular choice for neurological and orthopedic rehabilitation, with indication-guided training programs and user-friendly features. Because the pedal width and radius are both adjustable, this exercise machine comfortably accommodates a range of patient sizes. This exercise pedaler has been designed so that it does not require the use of tools for adjustments.

Indication-Guided Therapy Programs

This machine has multiple training programs that have been developed with the help of therapists. The training programs suggest different configurations for warm-ups and cool-downs, which can be easily adjusted during each session to fit the user's needs. The preset programs for indication-guided therapy have three different training levels: easy, medium, and intensive.

The following programs have been preset for the indication-guided training:

  • Symmetry
  • Standard Training
  • Cardio. This training program sets the machine to a specified heart rate, which is used as the target heart rate. The resistance is automatically reduced once the heart rate has been achieved.
  • Endurance. A default watt setting is put as the target value, depending on the training level that is being used. The motor resistance adjusts automatically to the rotational speed, which ensures the generated output is always the same.
  • Parkinson's disease. Depending on the training level, a specific resistance is preset for this program. The motor power and rotational speed are set slightly higher than in the multiple sclerosis program.
  • Post-operative. This mode activates soft training, which gently supports the body during movement.
  • Multiple sclerosis. Depending on the selected level in the active training, a specific resistance level is set after the passive warm-up training.

Each training mode is split into three phases:

  • Warm-up phase. This phase warms up the muscles, helping to relax cramps and spasms and loosen joints. Passive training coupled with low rotational speed is usually configured with this phase.
  • Training phase. This phase allows users to pick their desired training program to fit their physical requirements. There are also several forms of motor support available with certain training programs. There is active training with and without motor support as well as passive training options available.
  • Cool-down phase. When the training phase ends, there is a short cool-down mode that is activated in passive training with a low rotational speed.

Indications for Use

The Kinetec Kinevia Duo Machine is highly recommended and suitable for the following:

  • Cardiovascular diseases
  • Vascular disorders
  • Physical inactivity
  • Rheumatic diseases
  • Metabolic diseases
  • Paralysis or neuromuscular diseases with decreased leg and arm mobility after medical issues such as multiple sclerosis, paraplegia, muscular dystrophy, brain damage, Parkinson's disease, or neuromuscular diseases

Kinevia Duo Excercise Therapy System Exercise Modes

  • Passive. This is a gentle, motor-driven mode that mobilizes the muscles and joints. It's ideal for warmup exercises to help reduce muscle spasms and tension. During this training, the motor moves the patient with an adjustable rotation speed of up to 60 RPM.
  • Assisted. This setting supports active movement with passive motor power. It's designed to mobilize muscle strength, including the weakest muscles on the patient's body. This mode gives continuous movement for active or passive exercise.
  • Active. This mode offers 20 levels of resistance for active movement, providing patients with strength and muscle training.
