Types of CPR Training Supplies and Equipment

MDI Microshield Mouth Barrier

CPR Shields prevent cross contamination when performing mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. They provide a physical barrier between the patient and the responder in the form of a thin mouth shield or a full face mask. Shields are also useful for training purposes and can be convenient pieces of CPR instructor supplies. When each individual has a mouth barrier, multiple students may use the same manikin with a reduced chance of cross contamination during training.

Example:

Resuscitation Bags

Resuscitation Bags are hand-held devices that medical professionals inflate to manually introduce oxygen into the lungs. They are available in sizes for adults and children, and most resuscitation bags are disposable and latex-free. These devices are intended for use by those specifically trained and certified to use them, such as EMTs and other medical personnel.

Example:

Lifepak 1000 Defibrilator

AED Machines, also known as defibrillators, use a high-energy electrical pulse to stop irregular heartbeats or arrhythmia. The electric pulse shocks the heart back to normal rhythms, avoiding cardiac arrest. AED devices are among the most crucial CPR device.

Examples:

  • Physio-Control LIFEPAK - a long-lasting defibrillator that can be safely stored in a vehicle.
  • Samaritan PAD - a compact defibrillator designed for easy setup and a user-friendly interface.

AED Placement Pad

AED Pads are used to deliver the shock from a defibrillator. The pads, which typically include an adhesive gel, are applied directly onto the skin of the patient’s chest. The gel bonds the pad to the patient’s skin and provides readings to the defibrillator.

Examples:

CPRLilly Manikin

CPR Manikins & Dummies are extremely useful CPR training supplies. A dummy allows students to learn and practice proper CPR technique. Most dummies have faces made of materials that can easily be cleaned between uses.

Examples:

  • CPRLilly - An advanced and interactive CPR training manikin with realistic skin materials and controllable features.
