Overview

The Nasco Life/form Adult Ostomy Bag looks like a normal 1-piece closed ostomy pouch, but this pouch is designed for hands-on training in ostomy care. Nursing and medical students use it to participate in anatomical demonstrations, applying this ostomy pouch to the Nasco Ostomy Care Simulator LF00906U. The model has a variety of stoma types and sizes to reproduce the functions of a colostomy and ileostomy.

Nasco manufactures other training accessories that are compatible with the model, such as the Adult Ostomy Kit that includes gloves, syringes, and simulated stool. These supplies are to pump materials into the model to simulate drainage and excretion performance of the stoma. The students apply the Life/form Simulator Closed Adult Pouch to capture the reusable simulated stool. The adult pouch is cut-to-fit, giving the experience of measuring and fitting the pouch to the stoma. The pouch adhesive is designed for skin application and it should be noted that it won't stick to the model.
