Do your homework and get an advanced transfer bench.
After surgery, the hospital crew demonstrated a bath bench for bathing. When I got home I did some searching on the Internet and found several transfer bath benches that were significantly better than the one demonstrated at the hospital. I think the hospital must be using a design that is decades old. I purchased the bench with a sliding seat so that I do not have to scoot across a bench when any movement like that is very painful. The seat also swivels so that it is easy to get on an off and easier to dress or undress. I am so thankful that I did not blindly order a bath bench like I saw in the hospital and bought a really nice, advanced transfer bench instead.
