Silipos Distal End Gel Pad

The Silipos Distal End Pad - 4 Inch is a mineral-oil-infused gel insert that helps its users find a comfortable and reliable spot for use above or below knee prosthesis. Distal end pads are used in applications with these prosthetics to reduce impact by shock when walking. They usually do not require a doctor's prescription; however, your doctor may have recommended it if you have been feeling pain when walking.

The Silipos Cut-to-Size Distal End Pad can be trimmed for adjustability and convenient size. The gel pad will still work fine with these modifications. Protection to your limb by absorbing shock and abrasion is greatly increased -- so much so that some doctors provide a distal pad when introducing patients to their prosthesis.

As your use of your prosthesis continues, your limb(s) will start to take a shape with this effect. The purpose of the distal end pad is to also aid the socket fit by enhancing the growth of the limb that is going through changes.
