Covidien 2585 Kerlix 6 x 6-3/4 Inch Super Sponge Gauze 6 Ply by Covidien are packaged with two sponges per pack and are available in bulk, either a box of 40 or a case of 480 packs contained in a soft package. When needing only a small amount of gauze per application, the 2/pack prevents waste while ensuring sterility. Covidien also supplies the Kerlix™ Gauze in packs of 5 that are also sterile when additional gauze is needed per application. Either option provides a diamond folded super sponge that measures across 6 x 6 3/4 inches.

Kendall Kerlix™ Super Sponges are designed with a special crinkle-weave pattern that creates high absorbency to control wound exudate. As a primary dressing, the management of exudate is helpful in preventing maceration. The crinkle-weave pattern also allows the wound to breathe for increased patient comfort. The sponge is constructed from prewashed and fluff-dried cotton that's gentle to the skin. This process in conjunction with its 6-ply construction adds loft and bulk for softness against the wound bed.

Covidien designed the sponge with finished edges to avoid linting and prevent contamination when used for cleaning medical instruments.
