Acticoat Post-op Dressings, manufactured by Smith & Nephew, are wound dressings that have all of the qualities you would expect from a post op dressing with the added healing benefits of silver. Acticoat Post Op Dressing, like many dressings, has waterproofed backing and clear adhesive exterior. But, unlike some other Dressings, the Acticoat Post-op dressing has absorbent hydro cellular absorbent foam padding that is coated with healing silver. The nanocrystiline silver provides more antimicrobial protection than previously possible with post-op dressings. This Wound Care Dressing has a clear, adhesive layer surrounding the pad. If more adhesive is required, the ActiCoat Post-Op can be used with Hypafix tape to further secure the dressing.
