Offset Door Hinges for Wheel Chair Access – Review
I found the Swinging Door Hinge Offset Door Hinges for Wheel Chair Access very useful. They add an extra 2 inches to the doorway making wheelchair passage easy. It gives more space for moving and reduces the damage to the walls and casings. This is a really useful product for the wheelchair users who feel that the normal doorways are too small to move in and out.

great items!
This was the most reasonable place to purchase these expandable door hinges! They are easy to install....just take out the old and put in the new. The door ends up flush with the jam and gives you a couple extra inches of doorway clearance for wheelchairs and such!! I highly recommend them rather than banging up your doorways!

Wish I had known about this hinge sooner!
Our house was built in the 60's and there was no planning for an elderly person who uses a walker and wheelchair - narrow doors. The extra two inches it provides is wonderful. I'm getting one more hinge so my bedroom door can be put back in place!

A Must-Have for Walker & Wheelchair Users!
As an occupational therapist, previous walker user and current wheelchair user, I have recommended and used these hinges for decades, In many homes, bathroom doors are only 23" wide. When visiting, I was unable to walk through such doorways without awkwardly turning my wrists inside the walker bars to keep my knuckles from getting badly scraped. The improper hand position made walking unsafe, especially with the change in flooring at the bathroom doors. I didn't have that problem at home, with the hinges in place. I recommend replacing hinges in your house/apartment everywhere that is the only thing keeping a person in a wheelchair from passing through. That family member/friend should be as free to move about your home as everyone else! In a rental/ don't forget to keep the old hinges and switch them out when you move so you can take your" freedom hinges" with you to your new home.
