UV Light Sanitizers & Cleaners

UV Light Sanitizer Ultraviolet Cleaners emit rays that kill bacteria, viruses, and microbes. Ultraviolet light can be used to sanitize many objects, including electronic devices, hard surfaces, wallets, keys, and more. They allow for intense cleaning and sanitization without the use of harsh or potentially dangerous chemicals. Germs, bacteria, and a wide variety of other microbes are eliminated with a simple wave of light. In addition, since UVC does not involve any chemicals or drugs, it helps fight against "super bugs" that may linger after traditional sanitizers. 1

How Do UV Disinfection Light Sanitizers Work?

Ultraviolet light is a type of electromagnetic radiation. It produces several types of UV rays, including UVC. This particular wavelength of UV light is the shortest and has the most energy. Their structure can kill or damage bacteria by destroying DNA or RNA and breaking down their chemical bonds, making them unable to multiply. Since they cannot reproduce or spread, the germs are considered dead and no longer contagious. 2

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Can UV sanitizers be used on skin?
No. The lights are not designed to be used on living tissue. Doing so may cause damage to the skin.

Does UV light kill COVID-19?
According to the FDA, "UVC radiation has been shown to destroy the outer protein coating of the SARS-Coronavirus, which is a different virus from the current SARS-CoV-2 virus. The destruction ultimately leads to inactivation of the virus." 2

Can UV light harm the eyes?
Yes. It is similar to staring at the sun for too long without adequate eye protection.
