Tegaderm
Tegaderm Dressings are manufactured by Solventum (formerly known as 3M). They are available in multiple types, including Tegaderm Adhesive Dressing, Tegaderm Non-Adherent Dressing, Tegaderm Absorbent Dressing, Tegaderm Transparent Dressing, Tegaderm Hydrocolloid Dressing, Tegaderm Foam Dressing, and Tegaderm Alginate Dressing. The inner layer features Tegaderm Film, a clear, moist acrylic polymer pad that allows wound exudate to pass through perforations and move away from the wound. This design supports autolytic debridement while maintaining wound visibility. The outer layer is a breathable, waterproof barrier that helps protect against external contaminants.
Tegaderm Dressings feature a transparent design that allows patients and caregivers to monitor pressure ulcers, skin tears, and other moderately exuding wounds without removing the dressing. The Tegaderm Transparent Film Dressing helps bandages stay in place longer, promoting healing while reducing the frequency of dressing changes to save time and resources. Tegaderm acts as a viral barrier against HIV-1 and HBV when the dressing remains intact without leakage. The layered construction of the Tegaderm Dressing absorbs wound exudate while blocking outside contaminants. Its waterproof outer layer protects the wound and extends the life of the bandage. Tegaderm Dressings are hypoallergenic and available in several formats, including Tegaderm Foam Dressings, Tegaderm Adhesive Dressings, and the Tegaderm HP Transparent Adhesive Dressing for stronger adhesion.
