Great while it lasted

It lasted 3 weeks before the unit failed. Oddly you can buy the Contour monitor, lancing device, and lancets for about the same price as a single replacement. Idiot marketing morons!

My lancing device came in a kit with my Bayer glucosimeter. Even initially, when it was brand new, it was not efficient at penetration. After only a very few weeks, it became virtually useless - even set for the deepest penetration, and more than moderate pressure - it would not make a usable cut. I have relegated myself to using the lancet inserts to "stab" myxelf - rather crudely - in order to get a sample.
