The Cunningham Penile Clamp is an effective device to help control male urinary incontinence. This simple male incontinence product/device has helped thousands of men cope with the dribbling and incontinent side effects secondary to prostate cancer, stroke, and other urinary problems. The Cunningham Clamp is a hinged, stainless steel frame supporting two foam rubber pads, and a locking device. The user places the penis between the two foam pads and the hinged clamp is squeezed shut. The lower foam pad on the Cunningham Clamp has an inverted "V" which presses against the underside of the penis exerting a closing pressure on the urethra, which is close to the bottom of the penis. The clamping mechanism has five separate settings to control male incontinence. This permits the user to achieve the proper amount of pressure with the Cunningham Clamp to prevent urine leakage without discomfort. The Cunningham Clamp is reusable and sized by penis circumference (not length). To urinate simply release the clamp and spontaneously urinate, or if you self-cath, release the clamp and follow your normal self-cath procedure. After completion, replace the clamp to control dribbling. Many users buy two or three Cunningham Clamps. One to wear while washing the other, and a spare just in case you lose one. The Cunningham Clamp may be worn throughout the day releasing in between urinations.
Directions for Easy Adjustment to Give Proper Fit and Comfort
A very light pressure on the urethral canal on the underside of the penis will prevent any leakage.
The necessary pressure is achieved by the hump in the under part of the Cunningham Clamp.
For proper fit and comfort, the upper part of the clamp can be easily shaped by the fingers.
Exact adjustment of pressure is achieved by the ratchet catch on the regular and large sizes and the adjustable snap button on the juvenile size. To release the catch on the regular and large sizes, press inward on both the spring wire loops.
Be sure that the clamp is not set so tight that it will interfere with the blood circulation.
After repeated usage and proper maintenance (see washing instructions) inspect the product for signs of deterioration or damage (cracking, discoloration, separation of foam). The clamp should be replaced every 3 months, or sooner if the foam deteriorates. This product contains dry natural rubber.Washing instructions:
Wash with mild (hand) soap and warm water.
Rinse thoroughly in cool clean water.
Gently squeeze foam to discharge excess water.
Let unit air dry in cool environment away from excess heat or direct sunlight.
Do not use bleach, detergent, hot water, washer/dryer or blow dryer.

The device is effective to reduce the incontinent side effects secondary to prostate cancer, stroke and other urinary control problems. Below is a short list of the Cunnningham Clamp applications:
I've worn my Cunningham Clamp for about 3 weeks now. It took some getting used to but I've now figured out how to wear it comfortably and effectively.
1. It's inexpensive. You can try it without losing a lot of money if you decide it won't work for you.
2. It's simple to use: just clamp it down into one of the slots available on the side.
3. It's easy to release when you need to do so.
1. Almost no instructions on how to use it; e.g., where to place it and how to adjust it for maximum comfort and effectiveness.
2. It can take a few days of us before you figure out how to place it.
3. At first, it seems too small. I'm of average size and bought the largest size available but it was very uncomfortable to wear at the beginning.
I figured out that the form rubber compresses as you use it and sort of shapes to fit you. Now I know how to place it also - that helps a lot.
I recommend this clamp if you're tired of changing pads several times a day. I can now wear it all day (releasing every hour or so to urinate) with comfort. The only time I don't wear it is at night while I sleep. I will buy a second clamp not that I'm familiar and comfortable with it. It works!

Beneficial for incontinence problem
Pleased with the fast delivery and price of the Cunningham clamp. I also was able to discuss the product with a customer representative from Vitality Medical who was very helpful. My father is slowly adjusting to using the clamp but does have some painful discomfort when left on too long. It is adjusted to the least pressure setting. I would definitely purchase more products from Vitality. Medical. Thank You

Works Like a Charm
A few caveats: follow the measurement instructions and get the right size; wear a TEVA pad, which has "wings" to keep the clamp from touching your skin; clean it every day; bend the clamp slightly if you need more or less pressure (I just use the first notch setting) or if you get a slight stinging from it being too tight.
2 years after prostrate removal, I was going through 3-4 heavy pads a day, and all the urologist offered was another operation, which was a poor opiton, after you looked at the marginal success rate, and high percentage of people who had to have the operation repeated after 5-10 years. So I stumbled over the idea of a clamp when looking at the literature regarding other options, and was very annoyed that the urologist had never mentioned it. I can now wear just one pad all day, stay dry and feel comfortable, and go back to my normal bathroom schedule. Also works fine under a bathing suit: I wear a pair of jockey underwear under my suit, which has a support net built in, and nothing is noticeable.
I've been using the clamp for 6 months, and plan on using a clamp for the next 20 years - I don't find it to be much of an inconvenience, and it sure beats wet pads or another operation that really isn't ready for prime time.

The clamp has been pretty good for me for the past five years after prostate surgery.
As long as it is adjusted correctly the clamp works fine. I have a couple of spares b but the original one works best. I have had some trouble with the adjustmens on the spares and they can cause pain. But the are getting the hang of it and so am I.

terrible product...can't imagine anyone clamping this on his penis.
I can't imagine anyone putting this product on one's penis. It has the possibility of cutting off blood flow, not just cutting off urine dribble. after actually seeing and trying this product, I tried to return it, but was denied, so you got my money without delivering a product that works properly. Even if used, how does one go through airport or court screening with with something like this in one's pants?
The lower foam pad on the Cunningham Clamp has an inverted "V" which presses against the underside of the penis exerting a closing pressure on the urethra, which is close to the bottom of the penis. If the clamp does not close correctly you may need a larger size.
