Powerlung Breathing Exerciser is available in four different models--the PowerLung Airestream, the PowerLung BreatheAir, the PowerLung Trainer and the PowerLung Sport. PowerLung is a Respiratory Therapy device used to strengthen muscles in the respiratory system. By providing resistance that is uniform for each breathe, the PowerLung Lung Exerciser strengthens the lungs and increases lung capacity. PowerLung is used even by athletes to build lung capacity. Cleaning your PowerLung is easy using a PowerLung Cleaning Solution designed specifically for the Power Lung device. Anyone can use these lung trainers and no prescription is required; however, we do suggest you purchase the breathing exerciser that best fits your needs.
AireStream Breathing Exerciser designed for individuals who struggle with breathlessness and difficulty with physical activity. Breathe deeper and decrease breathlessness using this device before any activity. The PowerLung AireStream provides low resistance and is designed for people with light activities and who are in good health. The PowerLung AireStream is also great for stretching or warming up the breathing muscles before any activity and cooling down afterward. PowerLung recommends the AireStream Breathing Exerciser for people beginning to be moderately active, but not involved in athletics or in a formal exercise program.
BreatheAir Breathing Exerciser designed for individuals who want to increase their lung capacity and improve oxygen intake. It is suggested by the manufacturer to use the BreatheAir only 5 minutes twice a day to exercise lung muscles. The BreatheAir is strength training for your breathing muscles. It is drug free and adapts easily to any exercise, fitness or training program at home or gym. The PowerLung BreatheAir provides medium resistance. - Great Non-Drug Training and Therapy
I try to avoid drug therapy to treat my minor sports-induced asthma, but with it growing worse in recent years and living at high elevation, I've struggled more and more to breathe during runs. I've been using the green trainer version for almost a month now and noticed a significant increase in my lung capacity during extended runs. I feel like my lungs have been holding me back more than anything else, and this is doing the trick.
I still have a long way to go to get back to the fitness level I want, but at least I have the tools to do it.
Also, I struggled knowing which version to buy. If I followed the manufacturer guidelines strictly then I should have purchased the yellow BreathAir, but I after using the green trainer on minimum resistance, I've started increasing the resistance levels.
