EZ-ACCESS PATHWAY 3G Modular Access System is a durable, all-weather access ramp designed for both wheelchairs and scooters. They are ideal when mobility needs exceed what a portable ramp can provide. The modular design allows for multiple configurations to fit unique space requirements, including options for different lengths, surfaces, and handrails. Platforms and stairs can be added for turns or alternate access points. These modular access ramps are quick to assemble and easy to reconfigure or move if needed. Made from corrosion-resistant aluminum, they offer long-lasting performance with minimal maintenance. The PATHWAY 3G Modular System provides a stable, permanent access solution that can also be relocated if living arrangements change.

PATHWAY 3G Modular Access System meets ADA specifications and are designed for fast, efficient installation. Each ramp has a high weight capacity to support most wheelchairs and scooters. EZ-ACCESS, the manufacturer, offers a complete system for planning, ordering, and assembling configurations to match individual access needs. The streamlined design uses fewer parts and less hardware, reducing installation time. A 24-foot ramp system with handrails can be set up in under 30 minutes.
How to Customize Your Pathway 3G Modular Ramp

Step 1: Select the Surface
There are two surface styles—Solid Metal and Expanded Metal. Both are made from lightweight, durable aluminum with a slip-resistant finish. The Solid Metal Surface is the most popular choice. The Expanded Metal Surface is often selected in colder regions because it allows water to drain and helps reduce snow and ice buildup.

Step 2: Select Handrail Type
Select between two handrail options—Two-Line or Vertical Picket.
The Two-Line Handrail features two horizontal safety bars spaced 10.5 inches apart. The upper rail stands 34.5 inches above the ramp deck. This option is more affordable than the Vertical Picket Handrail and helps keep mobility devices and users securely within the access ramp boundaries.
The Vertical Picket Handrail has a picket-fence design for a more refined look. The vertical pickets are spaced 4 inches apart, offering added protection—especially for young children and pets.

Step 3: Select Modular Ramp Length
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) recommends a 1:12 slope ratio, or about 4.8 degrees. This means that for every inch of vertical rise, 12 inches—or one foot—of ramp length is required. For example, a 24-inch rise from the ground to the entryway needs a 24-foot ramp. An 8-inch rise would need an 8-foot ramp. Some local building codes may differ, so it's important to confirm the access ramp requirements in your area.
The ramp lengths are available in 2-foot increments, ranging from 4 to 30 feet. Ramps can be joined together to meet specific height or slope needs. The sections do not need to match in length; for instance, a 4-foot ramp can connect to a 10-foot ramp to create a 14-foot span. Ramps are linked using connectors and supported with adjustable legs.

Step 4: If Needed, Select a Platform with Matching Surface and Handrails
When space is limited in areas like a yard or garage, platforms may be needed to create turns instead of using one long straight ramp. The shape or layout of a porch or deck can also require a platform for a proper transition. The 3G Series include a 5-by-5-foot platform that provides usable space for turning or moving between ramps, or between a ramp and a porch or deck. Each platform is available with either surface style and handrail option to match the rest of the system.

Step 5: If Needed, Add-On Stairs
Stairs can be added to a platform to create an alternate access point. For longer ramp systems, stairs offer a convenient option for individuals who are not using a wheelchair or scooter. Seven stair sizes are available, with climbing heights ranging from 8 to 59 inches.

Step 6: If Needed, Select Landing Pad
A solid landing pad can be placed at the end of a ramp that leads to grass, gravel, or other soft surfaces. This eliminates the need to pour a concrete pad. The landing pad measures 59.48 inches long by 54.37 inches wide and provides a stable, secure surface at the base of the ramp.
