Enluxtra Wound Dressing Application Steps
Step-by-Step
- Prepare two small strips of medical grade adhesive tape.
- Temporarily secure opposite corners of the dressing to hold it in place and prevent it from slipping off.
- Apply a secondary dressing to fix the primary dressing in place.
- Or, use a transparent film dressing such as Tegaderm, Opsite, or similar. The film must completely cover Enluxtra and extend beyond the edges for at least 1 inch.
How to Apply Enluxtra
- Cleanse the wound with saline solution or sterile water.
- Dry the surrounding skin thoroughly.
- Select the dressing size to overlap the dry surrounding skin by at least ½ inch to 2 inches. The dressing will shrink as it absorbs wound fluid and starts gelling.
- Apply a dry primary dressing to the wound.
- Fix the dressing with an appropriate secondary dressing.
Combine Dressings for Larger Wounds
Recommended Wear Time
- Sloughy or infected wounds: 1 to 2 days.
- High drainage or slough: 2 to 3 days.
- All other wounds: 3 to 7 days.
Primary Dressing Administration
How to Remove
Lift one corner of the dressing backing and slowly peel back until the backing is completely removed from the wound.
