OPTILOCK Nonadhesive Super Absorbent Wound Dressing

Description

MedLine OptiLock Non-Adhesive Wound Dressing Overview

MedLine Optilock Non-Adhesive Wound Dressing is a non-adhesive dressing designed for wound care, such as partial and full-thickness wounds, pressure injuries, leg ulcers, lacerations, abrasions, and under compression wounds. It protects wounds from the risk of maceration, which prevents proper healing. MedLine OptiLock Wound Dressing is a highly efficient and versatile dressing - built to deliver optimal performance while treating wounds with large quantities of fluid and minimal drainage.

How This Dressing is Different

  • It continually adapts the level of absorption to the amount of wound drainage. The unique design of the contact layer helps direct fluid in one direction - away from the wound. It has a dispersion layer that evenly distributes and quickly transfers exudate into the super-absorbent core.
  • Each package contains a 2-minute course on wound care
  • Non-Adhesive border
  • Keeps moisture from escaping
  • Intact when saturated

Why Choose OptiLock Non-adhesive Dressing?

  • It comes in convenient-size packaging
  • Super-absorbant
  • Lock moisture away, even while being compressed
  • It absorbs more moisture
  • Works on infected wounds
  • Does not stick to wound surfaces
  • It adjusts to the moisture level

How OptiLock Works

How OptiLock Dressing Works

A super absorbent polymer core pulls in a high level of exudate, making it ideal for wounds with heavy drainage. The core locks away the exudate by changing it into a gel. Once it is a gel, the exudate cannot get back to the wound, which helps prevent maceration. Not only that but as wound drainage changes, the amount of fluid the dressing absorbs changes to match, creating an optimal moist wound healing environment.

The dressing has a non-adherent layer that keeps it from sticking to the wound or the surrounding skin. Dressing changes become more comfortable for the patient while protecting newly-formed delicate tissues. A blue protective backing prevents leakage that helps protect clothing, beds, and other furniture.

How it Absorbs

How to Apply OptiLock Dressing

  1. Put on gloves
  2. Clean the bed and the periwound skin
  3. Cover the surrounding epidermis with a protectant
  4. Take the dressing out of the protective packaging
  5. Place it over the damaged area
  6. (Make sure that the dressing is large enough to cover the wound and surrounding skin)
  7. Secure the dressing with a secondary dressing

Change Frequency

  • It is time to replace the dressing once fluid reaches the outer edges
    • (But change it at least once a week)
      1. Put gloves on
      2. To remove, peel back the secondary dressing
      3. Gently lift one corner of the Medline Non-Adhesive Dressing
      4. Slowly lift it off
