Lansinoh Breastmilk Collector

The Lansinoh Breast Milk Collector was specifically designed to help mothers catch every precious drop. As the baby breastfeeds, the opposing breast may produce breastmilk letdown. Attaching the Lansinoh Collector directly to the breast reassures mom that not one drop will be wasted.

Fidgety or active babies may move around while breastfeeding. This isn't an issue since the Lansinoh Milk Collector comes with a neck strap that allows for hands-free breastfeeding and milk collection. It's helpful to have the neck strap in place before breastfeeding but it doesn't matter when the collector is attached to the breast. Should the active baby accidentally bump the collector, the strap acts as a safeguard against spillage.

The Milk Collector by Lansinoh is made of silicone, which is soft and flexible so that it attaches easily and is equally comfortable when touching sensitive breast tissue. This silicone is a safe, food-grade material that's BPA- and BPS-free. The spout is attached by squeezing the body of the collector to produce suction that seals against the breast.

How to Use the Breastmilk Collector by Lansinoh

The silicone collector is easy to secure to the breast. Attach the neck strap to the collector and place it around the neck, This ensures that if there is an accidental kick by the baby, the bottle will not topple over and spill the breastmilk. Then hold the collector spout over the breast and squeeze for a gentle vacuum seal around the breast. No additional squeezing is required. The initial squeezing is for application only. This is not a manual breast pump. The collector will hold up to 4 ounces of breastmilk.

The suction cup underneath the collector bottle will ensure the precious contents are not spilled before it's poured into a baby bottle or breast milk storage bag.

How to Clean the Silicone Collector for Breastfeeding

Before using, sanitize the collector bottle by placing it into boiling water for five minutes and then place it on a clean towel to air dry. After each use, immediately wash it with hot soapy water and rinse with clean water and air dry. If you wish to clean in the dishwasher, place it on the top rack only. Another method to clean and sterilize is to use steam sterilizing bags for the microwave. Follow instructions for that brand of steam bags to prevent burns.
