Aspen Vista Cervical Thoracic Orthosis (CTO) Brace Overveiw
The Aspen Vista CTO Brace is a 2-Post cervical collar base of the Vista MultiPost with multiple adjustment points for additional motion restriction. This forced limitation of movement is essential for patient recovery following an injury of the cervico-thoracic spine. Having a 2-Post anterior and posterior vest design creates increased support and immobilization that the cervical collar can't do alone. The collar comfortably aligns the cervical spine and the front and lumbar panels create a thoracic and sternal vest to maintain this alignment. The 2-post features a locking sternal adjustment that angles to fit individual anatomies. Just like the adjustable one-size MultiPost collar, the thoracic and sternal support has a universal size so the patient can achieve a snug fit.
Hospitals and clinics benefit from the one size adjustable collar design because it doesn't require a variety of sizes to be purchased and stocked. The Height Adjustable Dial technology allows physicians to easily fit the patient by simply turning the dial clockwise and locking it into place.
The brace uses materials to promote healthy skin while the device is worn. The inner padding that lines the cervical collar is made of moisture-wicking polyurethane foam. The foam distributes pressure and keeps moisture from building up to prevent pressure sores or the skin from breaking down. The foam is cotton-lined and the pieces can be removed to wash and refresh.
Application Instructions
Begin with pre-forming the front collar. Adjust the collar height by pulling the dial upward and twisting it clockwise to achieve to the desired height and then lock it into place. The CTO vest adjustment is performed with the round button that releases yoke to get the desired angle and squeeze yoke back together. Push the center secondary lock (D) found on the instruction chart pdf found below. Slide down the top yellow primary lock to achieve the needed vertical height. Turn the dial (E) until the vest is at its lowest and most comfortable position and then slide the yellow button up to secure the primary lock. The second piece is the back lumbar panel. Attach the back panel clips to the sides of the vest and evenly pull straps until the patient feels it is tight yet comfortable in the back.
