Sterile Saline

Sterile Saline for inhalation is 0.9 percent sodium chloride solution that's preservative-free and contains no bacteriostatic agents. Sterile water for respiratory therapy is offered in smaller single-use vials with twist-off cap or a prefilled nebulizer bottle of sterile saline. The vials can be quickly loaded into a nebulizer to help produce mucus and phlegm to improve lung function. This is very important for individuals with cystic fibrosis. The vials with twist-off cap generally are offered in 3, 5, 10 and 15 mL. The small amount minimizes waste and ensures sterility since it needs to be disposed of after use. There are inverted milliliter graduations on the packaging to help with accurate dispensing and diluting respiratory medications prior to nebulization. The small dosages also make for convenient portability and fit nicely in a purse or travel kit. Larger prefilled nebulizer bottles containing sterile saline offers versatile vessels to provide cold or heated nebulization. It directly connects with a sterile reservoir and adapter to maintain sterility.
