The probe is applied directly from the box for a touchless application. A green light indicates the cover is in place. Once the reading is complete, the probe cover ejector button pops off the cover to dispose of directly over a trash bin.

Can the Braun ThermoScan work without a probe cover? 
No, the thermometer may only be used with a probe cover.

Can a probe cover be reused?
No, it's intended for single use to maintain accuracy and hygiene.  

Can other thermometers use these probe covers?
It is not recommended to use these probe covers with other brands, as they have not been tested to ensure fit. They are specifically designed for ThermoScan Pro infrared thermometers.
