Description

Securement dressings are often used to keep venous catheters securely in place. The 3M 1837 is designed to be a complete kit that is capable of both securing the catheter as well as providing antimicrobial protection and vision of the catheter site. These securement dressings are available in two different sizes. The 3.5 x 4.5 inch Tegaderm PICC CVC is used for both peripherally insterted central catheters (PICC's) and centeral venous catheters (CVC's). One of the greatest benefits for using this method of securement is the elimination of needlestick injuries in a care setting. It also has a waterproof film coating to keep contaminants out including liquids, bacteria and viruses.
