Jamar Stereognosis Kit - 081275841

The Jamar Stereognosis Kit is a clinical assessment kit for evaluating the recognition of familiar objects through touch. The kit contains 17 common objects: marbles, a key, a nut and bolt, a safety pin, a paper clip, a rubber band, dice, a pencil, a pen, a clothespin, a comb, a button, and various coins, along with laminated identification cards for each item. These cards include English and Spanish labels.

The stereognosis kit comes in a case for easy carrying and storage. Vision must be appropriately occluded during testing so the user identifies objects by touch rather than sight. A separate shield, screen, or protocol-appropriate method may be used for visual occlusion, but the shield is not included with this kit.

Results depend on consistent administration, visual occlusion, and the user’s sensory, motor, cognitive, and communication abilities. The kit may be used as part of clinical sensory assessment during rehabilitation or occupational therapy sessions.
