SenSura Mio Convex Soft 1-piece drainable pouch, manufactured by Coloplast, is the newest in the Mio line of discreet ostomy pouches with BodyFit Technology. This one-piece, drainable ostomy pouch is designed to be secure and discreet with even more flexibility and comfort.
Drainable ostomy pouches are used by patients with stomas and when considering which type to use, it's important to keep in mind the patient's needs. SenSura Mio Convex is a one-piece, drainable pouch designed to fit securely to uneven skin areas, deep-seated areas, and stomas that need support or help to protrude. The adaptive convex baseplate acts as a barrier and is combined with an elastic adhesive, allowing for a more secure fit while contouring to the patient's individual body shape. The filter and bag are designed to remain discreet. Because the adaptive convex remains fixed to the pouch, making it all one piece, the whole appliance is removed and replaced when refreshing the pouch.
There are three main design types for the SenSura Mio Convex baseplates: Soft convex, Light convex and Deep convex, offering comfort and flexibility for every need.
Soft convex: for protruding stomas with openings above skin level that need support due to challenges in the area around the stoma.
Light convex: for flush stomas with openings in level with the skin that need gentle help to protrude, or for slightly deep-seated areas where a light curve is needed to get a good grip.
Deep convex: for retracted stomas with openings below skin level that need a lot of help to protrude or for deep-seated areas where a deep curve is needed to get a good grip.
SenSura Mio Convex also comes in various customizable pre-cuts or hole sizes and pouches come in a variety of sizes and is opaque for optimal discretion.
