The Jamar Pegboard Test measures finger dexterity and overall hand movement. The pin-placement activities examine hand, finger, and arm movements, while the washer, collar, and pins test fine motor skills more closely.

Clinicians can buy the full test or replacement implements (55 pins, 45 washers, and 25 collars). The full test does not come with a required stopwatch, and results depend on proper test administration and interpretation of the supplied normative information.
