WalkOn Reaction AFO

Individuals with dorsiflexion weakness can rediscover an active lifestyle with the Ottobock WalkOn Reaction AFO ankle foot orthosis, by Ottobock. It's similar to the original WalkOn with a couple distinctive changes to increase knee response. An additional calf cuff is placed on the anterior side of the leg with a longer strut to work with ground reaction forces. This helps extend the knee which is helpful for users with slight knee extension impairment as well.

The WalkOn Reaction AFO achieves a natural gait pattern with normal heel strike. The carbon spring creates a controlled plantar flexion at the heel strike preventing foot slap. The carbon spring also is important in reducing energy expenditure by effectively absorbing energy.

The two Velcro straps make the WalkOn Reaction easy to don and doff. It inserts into regular stable shoes with laces and reinforced heel cup. It's recommended to wear the orthosis with cotton socks to reduce friction and for hygienic purposes. An insole, such as SuperFeet FLEXmax Insoles can be worn with the WalkOn Reaction but must be placed on top of the orthosis foot pad.

Indications

• Individuals with drop foot from dorsiflexion weakness with mild to moderate spasticity.
• Patients with slight impairment of the plantar flexion muscles.
• Patient with partial foot amputation.

Contraindications

• Not suitable for individuals with weak ankle or mild impairment or no motor control of knee, leg ulcers, oedema or foot deformities.
