Description

Omron Wireless Blood Pressure Monitor EKG is FDA-cleared as a personal diagnostic device for home use to monitor hypertension patients. It combines blood pressure (BP) examinations with electrocardiogram (EKG) diagnostics. It stores BP measurements and uses Bluetooth technology to send data to a computer or doctor's office for further evaluation. Complete™ Wireless connects with iOS or Android smartphones to display and record data. This device serves hypertension patients to monitor and assess blood pressure and EKG readings at home or traveling.

Manage Hypertension

Accurate BP measurements are essential for medical diagnostics and the management of hypertension. The monitor provides a complete picture of heart health with easy at-home measurements and tracking. People living with AFib now have a simple way to track their condition and identify when they need to seek treatment. This device uses an advanced algorithm for improved AFib detection. Store up to 90 blood pressure measurements to monitor and track over time. Unlimited storage by Bluetooth connectivity with a compatible smartphone makes this device even more worthy of consideration.

Reliability and Standards Compliance

The Complete Wireless Blood Pressure Monitor is technically known as the HEM-7530T-Z. It meets the highest reliability and precision standards and complies with validation protocols ANSI, AAMI, and ISO 81060-2:2009. It is on the National Opinion Research Center Validated Device List. The Omron Complete Wireless complies with FCC Part 15 FCC Rules as a Class B medical device. It is electromagnetic compatible, satisfying IEC60601-1-2:2014 requirements.

Data Collection and Sharing

This BP monitor utilizes Bluetooth technology to track, store, and share data. The Omron BP7900 provides systolic, diastolic, pulse, atrial fibrillation, tachycardia, bradycardia, and sinus rhythm measurements to help doctors make informed cardiac treatment plans. The device measures blood pressure and EKG simultaneously. Share the data with a physician for continuous heart-health insights and to maintain a healthier standard of living.

Blood Pressure D-Ring Cuff

The D-ring cuff fits arm circumferences of 9 to 17 inches. Place the cuff on the upper arm to the same height as the heart to take accurate BP readings.

Blood Pressure Monitor

The Complete Wireless is easy to use. The user merely places their thumbs on the top electrodes and at least two fingers on each side electrode as shown on the left. An EKG recording will automatically commence once the fingers touch the electrodes. After the monitor detects blood pressure and pulse rate, the cuff automatically deflates. Blood pressure and pulse rate display on the monitor. As soon as the blood pressure measurement is complete, the BP reading transfers to the smartphone.

After blood pressure measurement and EKG recordings, the blood pressure reading displays on the monitor. Press the BP [START/STOP] button to turn the monitor off. An EKG instant analysis appears on the left side of the smartphone screen, and the blood pressure readings appear on the right side.

EKG Monitoring

When completing an EKG recording, the results display on the downloaded Omron Connect app as Possible Atrial Fibrillation (or AFib), Bradycardia, Tachycardia, Normal, Unreadable, or Unclassified. Note that the EKG detectors work on Lead I recordings only.

Atrial Fibrillation Detection

The atrial fibrillation detector discovers possible atrial fibrillation within EKG tracing. After recording an EKG, a notification will appear in the app if there is a Possible Atrial Fibrillation (or AFib). This finding is not a diagnosis; it is only a potential finding for the recorded EKG. Contact a physician to review any EKG recording in which the device detected possible atrial fibrillation. Contact a medical professional about any symptoms or concerns.

Atrial fibrillation is the most common type of non-sinus tachyarrhythmia. It produces disorganized electrical impulses that originate in the atria and pulmonary veins and causes irregular heartbeats. When the heart is in atrial fibrillation, its two upper chambers, the right and left atria, quiver instead of beating efficiently. Atrial fibrillation does not allow for complete emptying of the atria and thus blood may become stagnant and create blood clots. This condition can lead to significant health problems, including strokes, transient ischemic attacks (TIAs), and pulmonary embolism (PE), depending upon which chamber of the heart has the blood clot.

Approximately 15% of strokes occur in people with atrial fibrillation. As age increases, so does the incidence of atrial fibrillation, which peaks at about 3-5% in people over 65. Atrial fibrillation's most common symptoms are abnormal heart sound, chest pain, palpitations, dizziness, fast heart rate, irregular rhythm, chronic shortness of breath, abnormal jugular venous pressure, fatigue, and impaired exercise tolerance. Other symptoms related to TIAs and strokes may be the initial symptoms of atrial fibrillation.

Some of the most common causes of atrial fibrillation are alcohol abuse, smoking, diabetes mellitus, long-standing hypertension, congestive heart disease, cardiac valvular lesions, myocardial infarctions, hyperthyroidism, electrolyte imbalances, or history of coronary artery bypass grafts.

Taking BP Readings with Wireless Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor

Bradycardia Detection

The bradycardia detector notifies the user within the app upon locating an arrhythmia due to a slower heart rate. The app analyzes EKGs to detect normal sinus rhythm without significant abnormalities between 40-50 beats per minute.

Tachycardia Detection

The tachycardia detector senses tachycardia within the app. Tachycardia is a type of arrhythmia with a faster heart rate (100-140 beats per minute). The app detects normal sinus rhythm without significant abnormalities at these heart rates.

Normal Detection

The wireless blood pressure monitor detects regular heart rates within the app. Normal means that the heart rate is between 50 and 100 beats per minute, there are no or very few abnormal beats, and the shape, timing, and duration of each beat meets normal sinus rhythm.

There is a wide range of normal variability among different individuals. Changes in the shape or timing of an EKG might be normal for a single individual. Still, since a large and diverse population uses the apps, the Normal detector's programming is conservative with what it detects as normal.

Patients diagnosed with a condition affecting their EKG shape (e.g., intraventricular conduction delay, left or right bundle branch block, Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome, etc.) tend to experience a large number of premature ventricular or atrial contractions. Patients undergoing an arrhythmia or who took a poor-quality recording will not likely see a normal EKG reading.

The Normal detector will not declare an EKG outside the heart rate of 50-100 beats per minute as normal, even if the EKG has a regular sinus rhythm. As a result, patients that typically get normal results but take an EKG immediately after any physical activity that raises the heart rate above 100 beats per minute may not get a normal result.
