MAXORB EXTRA Ag Rope by MedLine is a highly absorbent wound dressing that measures 1 x 12 inches. It contains ionic silver, which is stimulated when exposed to the wound. When wound fluid is absorbed, silver ions are released, which creates a controlled-release antimicrobial effect. It protects from microorganisms, such as VRE and MRSA, is non-irritating, non-sensitizing, and does not harm new granulation tissue. This non-woven pad is biocompatible and composed of high G (guluronic acid), carboxymethylcellulose (CMC), calcium alginate, and ionic silver.
Similar to the Tegaderm Alginate Ag Rope, it provides effective protection and high absorbency.
