Iodosorb Wound Gel Overview
Iodosorb Cadexomer Iodine Gel is a sterile formulation iodine solution that utilizes a specialized 3-in-1 mode of action to effectively kill bacteria, manage exudate and debride wound beds. Intended for use in cleaning wet ulcers and wounds such as venous stasis ulcers, pressure sores, diabetic foot ulcers, and infected traumatic and surgical wounds. When applied, Iodosorb dressing cleans the wound by absorbing fluids, removing exudate, slough and debris while simultaneously forming a gel over the wound's surface. As the gel absorbs exudate from the wound, iodine is released, killing bacteria and changing color as the iodine is used up.
Iodosorb ointment assists in reducing the amount of bacteria that may build up in the wound bed, all while reducing associated pain and discomfort. The non-adhesive formula can reduce trauma, as well as making wound dressing easier to change.
