The Jamar Evaluation Kit contains a hydraulic hand dynamometer, finger goniometer, and pinch gauge to help physical and occupational therapists assess their patients’ hand strength and function. The testing can help therapists with diagnosing and treatment planning.
This three-piece evaluation set measures grip strength, pinch strength, and range of motion as separate measurements. The five-position dynamometer handle accommodates different hand spans, and the hydraulic peak indicator retains the highest applied force for reading and recording. The hydraulic hand dynamometer measures grip force up to 200 pounds, or 90 kilograms.
The included pinch gauge measures tip, key/lateral, and palmar pinch force up to about 45 pounds. The finger goniometer measures small-joint motion on a degree scale. Meaningful comparison depends on standardized positioning, handle settings, pinch pattern, joint alignment, test sequence, repetitions, and calibration status.
The Hydraulic Hand Evaluation Kit is analog and not digital. The tools may require regular calibration checks and adjustments and do not store data.
