Safety and Maintenance
The Harmar 3-Axis Tailgate Lift has been engineered to provide you with years of trouble-free use, but as with any mechanical device, regular care and maintenance is essential for keeping the machinery in optimal working condition
Check the lifting strap before each use and while using the lift; If you observe any wear or damage, DO NOT USE! Contact your dealer or installer for repairs. Failure to act may result in serious injury or damage.
Schedule preventative maintenance inspections with your dealer at least once a year for motors, lift frame, wiring harnesses and all moving parts.
Check paint for chips and touch up any bare metal with a gloss black enamel or lacquer to inhibit rust. It may be necessary to perform this more often if the lift is subject to salt air or road salt.
Keep the remote hand control unit inside the vehicle whenever possible. If your lift is installed in the bed of a pick-up truck, unplug the hand control after each use and put it inside the cab. The hand control should not be submerged in water as this may cause unit failure.
