Jamar Grooved Pegboard & Replacement Pegs

The Jamar Pegboard is an assessment tool for occupational and physical therapists to evaluate a patient’s fine motor skills, dexterity, and hand-eye coordination as they place grooved pegs into the board with a timer running. It features 25 slotted holes with varying shapes and orientations and keyed pegs. The patients demonstrate their abilities by finely manipulating and rotating the pegs with a single hand to fit the shaped grooves, making the test more difficult and insightful than a regular pegboard test. The test is conducted on both the dominant and non-dominant hands.

This grooved pegboard assessment can help therapists gather data that may help them create treatment plans or provide insight into the patient’s rehabilitation progress. Scores in the assessment are measured by how quickly the patient can fill all the grooves in order and how many “drops,” or dropping of pegs, occur.

The Jamar Grooved Pegboard comes with 25 pegs; a replacement set of 30 pegs is available in case the original pegs are lost or damaged.
