Exufiber Dressing with Fluid Retention Overview

Exufiber Gelling Fiber Dressing is a nonwoven dressing that assists with the management of exuding wounds. Made from polyvinyl alcohol fibers, the Exufiber Wound Dressing turns into a gel that is designed to prevent leakage and create a moisture-laden environment for healing. The cloth uses Hydrolock Technology to absorb and retain fluid, but it won't break apart when removed from a wound. Additionally, the dressing is easy to remove and comes in a variety of sizes.

The Exufiber is especially compatible with Mepilex Border, like the 4 x 4-inch Mepilex Border foam dressing.

How to Use

Wash the hands and put on gloves. Wash the wound with a wound cleanser, which depends on the wound or advice of a healthcare provider. Dry the surrounding skin with a gentle towel or cloth. Remove the dressing from the package. Cover or fill the wound with a little bit of overlap. Place a secondary dressing over the fiber dressing. If needed, conduct compression therapy.

The wound should be changed as often as needed to prevent infection. Talk to a healthcare provider to know specifically how often the wound should be changed.

Intended Use

This product is intended to be used on exuding wounds. Some examples of these wounds include:

• Ulcers (pressure, leg, and foot)
• Partial-thickness burns
• Wounds (surgical, cavity, and chronic)
• Donor sites

Warnings

The gelling wound care manager is not intended for dry wounds or full-thickness burns. Contact a health care provider if infection occurs. Make sure the dressing is moistened before removing it from the wound.
