How To Use the Patient Transfer System?
Intended Uses
This product helps users with mobility issues to rise from a sitting to standing position for their transfer to a wheelchair, chair, bed, commode, or toilet. The patient using this product must meet the following conditions:
- Have the ability to grip the transfer aid
- Have the ability to pull up their own body weight
- Need and acquire assistance from a caregiver to support themselves standing and to be turned. This caregiver must be able to handle the patient's weight.
This product should only be used on flat surfaces and is not for outdoor use.

Use Preparation
- After assembling the Etac Turner Pro standing and transfer aid, review the manufacturer's safety guidelines and post-assembly checklist to ensure the device has been properly assembled and for the user's safety (see the user manual at the bottom of this page).
- Use the top adjustment knob to raise or lower the height of the handle. Try to match the user's needs as closely as possible, but further adjustment can be made later.
- Use the lower adjustment knob to adjust the height of the leg support. The measuring scale on the support bar will allow you to note the correct height for future uses.
- Position the seat the user will be transferred to if possible, then position the Etac Turner Pro patient transfer aid so it slides under the user's feet. Adjust the aid's leg and handle heights as seen in the diagram below.
Caregiver Use Instructions
- Use both hands to firmly grip the top of the standing device's handle bar.
- Put one foot on the footrest to stabilize it.
- Create eye contact and communicate clearly with the patient. Maintain eye contact throughout the entire transfer process.
- Ask the patient to use both hands (if possible) to firmly grip the bottom portion of the handle bar.
- Ask the patient to carefully stand. Use your hands and feet and lean backwards to counterbalance the patient's weight as they rise.
- Turn the transfer aid so the patient's backside is facing the frpmt of new seat.
- With your foot on the footrest, brace your body weight.
- Have the patient sit in the new seat.
- Once the patient has been seated safely, the device can be pulled out of the way.
