Biatain® Super 46320 by Coloplast is a super absorbent dressing without an adhesive to be mindful of fragile or delicate periwound skin. As a super absorber, the dressing is specifically created with a core that can handle large amounts of wound exudate. This is ideal for treating pressure ulcers, leg ulcers, second degree burns and surgical wounds.
It's super absorbent core is a hydrocapillary pad designed to soak up exudate and bacteria vertically and distribute it in the pad horizontally. This manages exudate effectively to prevent leakage and maceration. The pad is durable to hold up well even when dressing is used with compression.
Maintaining a moist wound environment is also needed in fast healing. The exudate management accomplishes this along with the dressing's semi-permeable top layer. It releases moisture as needed while preventing moisture and bacteria from entering. This provides optimal protection and provides greater comfort with its protection during showering or bathing. Fewer dressing changes also adds to patient comfort. Depending on the amount of wound exudate, the dressing can stay in place for seven days. This makes it very cost-effective as well.
