BD AutoShield Duo Pen Needle has a front shield that automatically covers the needle before and after an injection, and a second shield that passively covers the back end needle after injection, helping to reduce the risk of accidental needle stick injuries. Additionally, the front shield helps conceal the needle to reduce injection related anxiety. This has a 5mm needle which fits with current AADE guidelines for diabetes injection needle length and is suitable for all patients regardless of age, race, or BMI. This is the only pen needle that passively covers the front and back needles, eliminating exposure after use.

Colored shields on both front and back ends of the needle provide visual and tactile confirmation of safety.
5mm needles are shown to provide equivalent glycemic control to longer needles, regardless of user BMI.
