The Aspen Peak Scoliosis Brace is an unloader adult brace to correct postural lean from sideway spine curvature in order to achieve a more natural stance. There are three points of force applied at the thoracic and trochanter pads in addition to the belt. These pads can be secured anywhere on the Peak SBS where support is helpful. The brace is one size with fully adjustable features to give a custom fit. The waist adjusts to fit from 24 to 45 inches and can reach 70 inches by adding an extension panel. The brace contains supportive rigid stays that remove with ease to accommodate smaller sizes and to create a lower profile brace. The structural stays are placed in small segments to easily create the shape needed for the best support and comfortable fit.
The Universal Strut Assembly makes the Aspen Scoliosis Brace look and function differently than a standard posture corrector back brace. The two-sided strut adds support with the thoracic and trochanter pads, which are anchored by posterior tension straps. The straps angle where tension is applied and can be placed wherever hook material is found for quick application and removal. This adjustability lends optimal support for the patient's condition.
The Aspen Peak Scoliosis Bracing System is made with Aspen's innovative SlickTrack Tightening System found in its Summit Lumbosacral Brace. Independent lower and upper pull tabs create direct compression to the spine where it needs it the most. Patients simply tighten the straps to the desired amount. The pulley system controls the compression and won't require a lot of strength. Compression not only supports fatigued muscles; it reduces pain and oxygenates this region.
A universal size makes it easy for clinics to stock the Aspen Back Brace Scoliosis Support System. Purchase a separate 10-inch extension panel to accommodate for a larger waist size greater than 45 inches. The brace can be worn against the skin and underneath clothing, but it is recommended to be worn over clothing.
Peak Scoliosis Brace Application Instructions
Measure the patient's waist. Peel hook material to free fabric to view the reference number size. The lateral stays may be removed if necessary to obtain a smaller size and comfortable fit. Select size and secure brace with the overlapping hook and loop. Determine the side of the patient that requires support to place the Universal Strut System and straps. The final step is to add compression. The patient inserts thumbs into the pull tabs on each side and then pulls tabs away from the body to tighten straps until the amount of compression is obtained. Place pull tabs onto the front panel.
Peak SBS Care Instructions
Do not machine wash or dry. The brace must be hand washed in water and mild detergent. Wash thoroughly and rinse to remove soap residue. Pat dry to remove excess water and completely air dry before wearing the brace. Do not use harsh chemicals or bleach.
