McKesson 3 x 3 inch Hydrocellular Foam Dressing Silicone Adhesive Border is a highly comfortable silicone adhesive that acts as a primary or secondary dressing for wounds with moderate exudate. The perforated, soft silicone gel adhesive provides gentle but firm adhesion while helping to minimize pain and trauma to the wound and skin upon removal. The adhesive foam dressing is formulated to be able to withstand lifting and repositioning without losing any of its adherent properties. McKesson 4842 Silicone Foam Dressing is breathable while remaining resistant to bacteria and moisture due to the outer film layer that firmly seals the wound edges. The absorbent inner hydrocellular foam pad maintains a moist wound environment to help promote healing, making this dressing an excellent choice for maintaining fragile skin through the healing process. Pair with Skin Prep Wipes by Kendall to prepare a sterile environment for the application.

How Hydrocellular Dressing Works

Hydrocellular wound dressings are designed with soft, hydrophilic polyurethane foam that is covered with a semipermeable film. The film is moisture permeable while providing a barrier for exudate and protection from microorganisms. The contact layer is covered with a perforated film that keeps the dressing from sticking to the granulating tissue. The foam layer's high absorbency keeps exudate in check while the semipermeable film backing prevents strikethrough. Hydrocellular dressing absorbs the exudate while maintaining a moist healing environment to expedite and optimize the healing process.
