Description
Who Uses This Product? First responders, hospital employees, and military and rescue personnel who need to perform prompt triage assessments during mass casualty incidents.
Why They Love It? The tags speed up the triage process and make tracking patients easier. They are resistant to water, heat, sunlight, chemicals, and fire. The tags include an elastic band so they can easily be attached to patients. Each tag has a unique bar code that helps track both the patient and their belongings. The tear-off color-coded tabs at the bottom of each tag make patient status identification fast and uncomplicated.
Triage Tag Overview
MetTag is preferred by the following organizations:
The MET-TAG Triage Tags give first responders and rescue personnel the standard triaging abilities required to allow them to perform a prompt and accurate assessment of mass casualty incidents where multiple victims have been injured and require varying degrees of medical attention.
First responders are given a small window to give first-aid and assess the situation and take action to save lives. First responders must have a quick, easy, and reliable method of assessing victims and assigning them with an appropriate triage or priority status based on the severity of their injuries.
Constructed of a high-density, damage-resistant synthetic paper material printed using special thermal printing allowing its use in the harshest and most demanding field situations under a variety of conditions. Additionally, each triage tag is provided with a 30-inch elastic band, which is used for attaching the tag to the victim's body - usually around the neck or on an available limb.
Each tag is coded with a unique sequential barcode for easy identification and tracking of victims and their belongings through the various phases of the triage and treatment process. Tags are used extensively by U.S. military units, Firefighters, and EMT personnel, as well as a large number of federal, state, and local response agencies; including the Department of Defense, Department of Corrections, and state and local Emergency Management Agencies and Operations Centers.
Olympic Champion
The MetTag CB-100 was used in every U.S. Olympic Games since 1980.
Tags and Their Uses
The CB-100 Medical Emergency Triage (Chem-Bio) Tag is used to take note and properly record incidents involving chemicals and bio-materials. In incidents like this, it is also important to protect first-responders as well with the use of chem-suits, to reduce contamination and to reduce the spread of contamination from these harsh chemicals. The Chem-Bio tag is made of the same high-density paper material to withstand the hectic environment.
The MT-137, MT-137i Triage Training Tag is a standard use tag for mass casualty incidents with multiple victims requiring a range of medical attention. The levels of degree help determine which victims should be given treatment as a priority and if a victim is expectant. The tag does not have an indicating language, instead, symbols are used; making it a universal tool that is easy to understand regardless of language.
The MT-501, MT-501i (S.A.L.T.) Medical Emergency Tag was developed by TACDA/METTAG along with the Gold Cross Ambulance for providing the most helpful tools and most crucial notifications that can be placed on the tag to help both victims and medical personnel. S.A.L.T. which stands for Sort, Assess, Life-saving interventions, and Treatment/Transport.
The MT-FLEET Fleet Tag for EMT/Ambulance Maintenance is used by the crew to record equipment and machine issues. This is usually the case when emergency vehicles, such as ambulances, need to be serviced. Personnel can tag to let EMT's know of pending mechanical issues or failures: to find an alternative or use different equipment.
