Instructional Video: How to Set Up Your Device (1:28 minutes)

Video Transcription

The first step of basic pump operation is to prepare and load your feeding set. To prepare your set, simply fill the bag or spike per your standard procedure. In order to achieve proper accuracy, the initial fluid line in the feeding set container must be six inches above to top of the pump. Once your feeding set is ready, press the power button on the lower right of the front panel to power up the pump. You have the option to either keep your previous settings or clear settings. The “Keep Settings” option will allow you to keep your previously programmed settings. The “Clear Settings” option will clear your previous settings and the volume feed from the previous feeding. Next, open the blue door to the feeding set loading area. Grasp the thumb tab on your set and insert the tab directly into the left pocket of the loading set area. Press down firmly on the thumb tab and align with the white line to ensure it is seated. Grasp the black ring retainer and gently wrap the tubing counter-clockwise around the rotor. Carefully pull the black retainer end upward to position it over the slot on the right, and then lower the retainer into the slot. Use caution not to overstretch the tubing. Close the blue door to the feeding set loading area.

Product Questions

My son usues a Kangaroo Joey . I plan to buy a spare battery. For extended power outages I use a generator but would not directly power the Joey pump because it is sensitive and generator power is dirty so to speak. I plan to use a 300 watt pure sine inverter , deep cycle battery hooked to a battery charger powered by a generator. Does anyone have a better idea or suggestions ?

Hi, is there a warranty on this product?

I have gone through 3 pumps this month with the same problems the first lady did
WHILE THE pump is easy to set up and use over the last 19 years of using feeding pumps overall this pump has given the most problems. The wheel cogs being on top of the set causes great problem and many service call due to pump not pulling food from bag giving a feed line error continuously. If and when a problem occurs the food bag line will pop. the spillage even though cleaned up will then continually cause feed line errors as the food will no longer be pulled correctly. Servicing is then needed and DME company has to deliver a back up until the machine is repaired. In the last 5 years alone we have had 3 new machines of this type and brand. In the last 3 months our one pump has had to have service calls 4 times. I am looking to replace this brand of pump, I would not recommend for someone who relies solely on pump feeding.

Rather than rent at $144.55 a month you can own one for $588. However, nowhere in the description does it state the pole bracket (clamp) comes with it.
So no need to purchase one as I did, wind up sending it back with a 20% restocking fee and return shipping. So word of warning, the clamp does come with it.
Kangaroo Joey Enteral Feeding Pump Review
I really want to thank the inventor of this device. It literally saved my life. My dad cannot feed himself so he always need somebody to feed him and it had been me. But with this I can both feed him and have some time for myself. You might think it's a bit expensive but it is definitely worth it.
