Kangaroo™ PVC Feeding Tube, by Medtronic, is a nasogastric tube to provide short term access through the nose, past the throat and down into the stomach. For decades, Kangaroo has delivered safe, innovative nutritional delivery products. This PVC Feeding Tube is used specifically for pediatric or neonatal patients to allow enteral access and stomach decompression. Patients are able to receive nutrition, feeding and other oral agents effectively as well as have stomach contents removed to relieve air and fluid pressure.
The PVC has a stiff construction to allow for a syringe to easily insert feeding, medication and irrigation. The proximal end accepts a male luer connector for universal connection with feeding adapters. An attachable cap to the connector remains closed when not in use or during transport. The Kangaroo PVC Feeding Tube's transparency allows clinician to monitor color and consistency of fluid and detect occlusions.
Kangaroo PVC Feeding Tubes are sterile for optimal protection for the patient. The sentinel line tubing is made with thermosensitive material allowing for the tube to be detected easily by x-ray. Sentinel eye catheter also makes for easy location of the distal tip. The distal end allows for complete drainage, which reduces bacterial growth which gives the tubes a longer life and can be used up to three days. This makes Kangaroo PVC Feeding Tubes very cost effective.
