TruTone Plus Overview
TruTone Plus Electrolarynx Artificial Larynx is a handheld electronic device that helps patients with speech difficulties after a laryngectomy, also known as voice box removal surgery performed as part of larynx or throat cancer treatment. This artificial larynx produces a mechanical sound so the user can speak and be better understood when engaging in conversation. This speech aid is adjustable to achieve the best overall vocal tone, quality, and sound as the person speaks through the device. The adjustable cap also sharpens the sound. An increased vocal range lets others hear the person using the device.

Two Electrolarynx Speaking Options
When using the TruTone Plus Artificial Electronic Larynx, there are two locations to produce speech sound. It will depend on the user's anatomy or their preference.
- The Neck is the most common place to capture the sound waves that move through the neck tissues.
- The Mouth is a backup when the neck tissues are healing after surgery or the neck tissues are too stiff to capture sound waves. It works using an adapter and oral tube that's inserted into the mouth.
