smpl Wander Alert Motion Sensor

The smpl Wander Alert Motion Sensor (Simpl Technology 58020) is a battery-powered wander and fall emergency alarm for care recipients, including elders in cognitive decline (such as those with Alzheimer’s and dementia), care recipients with disabilities (such as Down syndrome and Autism, and young children. These alarm systems can be used both in homes and at nursing homes and other care facilities.

Alarms will sound when sensors have been set off within 100 to 200-foot range in a home or business or a 250 foot range in an open area. Because caregivers carry the alarm with them, care recipients will not be distressed by hearing the alarm going off.

The smpl Wander Alert Alarm kits come in a variety of options. Kits can be purchased with a door sensor and pager, a room motion sensor and pager, or an SOS/help FOB or pendant and Pager. The Complete Alert Kit can also be purchased and it includes all four of the previously mentioned items.

Extra pagers and sensors can also be purchased as add-ons for additional home and facility coverage. Up to twenty extra sensors can easily be paired with a single pager. Conversely, one sensor can be paired with each pager so more caregivers can be paged in case of a patient or loved one tripping a sensor. Smpl Wander Alert Component Descriptions and Installation Guidelines

smpl Pager (for All Wander Alert Systems)

The smpl Pager can be paired with any other smpl Wander Alert product. This includes the Door Sensor, the Motion Alert, and the SOS/Help Alert. The smpl Pager allows users to choose from fifty different alert melodies, so a different melody can be chosen for each place a sensor is set up. Due to this fact, caregivers using the smpl pager can arrive at the correct place quickly and without confusion. The smpl Pager can be carried in a pocket, clipped to a belt or jacket, or simply placed near the caregiver. It also has four different volume settings and it sounds, vibrates, and flashes when a sensor is tripped. For these reasons, caregivers are unlikely to miss an alert.

smpl Wander Door Motion Sensor Alert Kit

The smpl Wander door sensor alert keeps care recipients safe by immediately sounding, vibrating, and lighting up when they enter monitored doors and hallways or open monitored windows and cabinets.

Door Sensor Alert kits come with three parts: a door sensor, a magnet, and a pager. With a strong double-sided tape on the magnet and sensor, all one has to do to install this system is attach the sensor to the doorframe and then attach the magnet to the door no more than ¾ of an inch away from the sensor. If needed, moving the door sensor kit to another spot in the home (or a different home) can be done without difficulty. The door sensor is wireless, communicates with the included pager via radio frequencies, and is battery operated.

The door sensor comes with a button-cell battery. This battery will last approximately six to twelve months. An indicator light flashes blue when the door the motion sensor is next to opens. This indicator light will flash red when the battery is close to dying. Replace the battery as soon as you see the light flashing red to avoid problems that might occur in the event of a dead battery.

smpl Wander Alert Motion Sensor Alert Kit

The motion sensor Patient Safety Alarm can be placed anywhere in a home or facility to ensure that care recipients don’t enter certain areas, such as hallways, stairways, and more. Like the door sensor alarm, the motion alert kit uses radio frequencies to communicate with the pager and is wireless and battery operated. Movement can be detected within about 20 feet about the installed motion sensor.

For installation, use the included double-sided tape to install the motion alert kit three to four feet from the ground. This item comes with a button-cell battery that has about six to twelve months of battery life. An indicator light that typically flashes blue will flash red when the battery is low on energy. Replace the battery as soon as you notice the light flashing red.

smpl SOS/Help FOB or Pendant Kit

The SOS/Help alert system is for emergency falls and other instances when a care recipient needs assistance from their caregiver. This item can be carried by users with either the included FOB or the included lanyard.
