Read below for a description of each of these Primus Medical Hospital Bed and Mattress Accessories.Each description includes compatibility information to help ensure that you order the correct item for your bed. 35 and 42 Inch Head/Footboards A headboard and footboard must be purchased separately with the Primus PrimeCare Bed frames.35 and 42 inch headboards and footboards pertain to the Primus Medical bed models 301 (item# SP01PCB301), 601 (item# SP01PCB601) and 901 (item# SP01PCB901).Make sure to match the correct head/footboard width to the width of the bed. 35 inches wide is the default, and 42 inches wide when using a width extension.The headboards and footboards that we list for these beds have a rectangular shape and are available in either oak or mahogany. Battery Backup with Mount The battery backup ensures that the bed will still function in the event of a power outage. It is an excellent safety option for medical facilities. The battery backup comes with the hardware needed to mount it to the bed.There are two different battery backup models with different item numbers:

• SP01CB49064 matches Primus Bed models 601, 901 and 2000 (SP01PCB601, SP01PCB901 and SP02PPB2000)
• SP02TBB21060001 matches the Primus Bed model 1750 (SP02PPB1750)

Freestanding Trapeze This freestanding trapeze is a great option for patients who need additional assistance when sitting up. It is specifically designed to complement the design of the Primus PrimeCare beds. As a freestanding model, it can be moved into and out of position when desired. It has a weight capacity of 500 pounds.There are two different freestanding trapeze models with different item numbers:

Integrated Bariatric Trapeze The integrated bariatric trapeze is a more permanent and heavy-duty option for patients who need assistance to sit up in bed.The trapeze frame installs right into the frame of the bed. The trapeze bar can be adjusted to several positions along the length of the trapeze frame. It has a high weight capacity of 1000 pounds.

Freestanding Bariatric Trapeze This freestanding bariatric trapeze is a great option for patients who need additional assistance when sitting up. It is specifically designed to complement the design of the Primus PrimePlus beds.As a freestanding model, it can be moved into and out of position when desired. Embedded Staff Control/Lockout The staff control makes it possible for medical workers and caregivers to enable and disable the functionality of the control pendant at the patient's end of the bed. It also allows workers to control the bed's electronic functions while standing at the foot of the bed.The staff control is embedded in the footboard of the bed. It must be purchased at the same time as the footboard so it can be installed before shipment.There are two different staff control models with different item numbers:

Assist Bars These assist bars are for the PrimeCare model 901 bed. They are sold individually (not in pairs).The bars screw into place by hand using hard plastic screw knobs, and they can be removed just as easily without tools. The bars help patients assist themselves in and out of bed and serve as partial bed rails.

1/4 Assist Bars These 1/4 assist bars are for the PrimeCare model 901 bed. They slide into place on the bed and are held in position with a locking pin. They can be quickly installed and removed without the use of tools. The bars help patients assist themselves in and out of bed and serve as partial bed rails.Their rotating function allows them to be moved out of the way without having to completely remove them from the bed. A release lever is used to lock and unlock their position.

Padded Side Rails (Bariatric) Extra padded side rails can be purchased to accompany the two side rails that come standard with the PrimePlus 1750 and 2000 bed frames. Additional side rails can be placed on other points of the bed frame when more than one pair is desired.Side rails are sold individually (not in pairs). They attach and remove from the bed frame using simple hand tools.

Bariatric Bed Scale This bed scale is specifically designed to work with the PrimePlus 2000 model bed frame. It allows patients to be weighed without having to leave the bed. This is essential for bedridden bariatric patients whose medical care requires frequent weighing. The bariatric bed scale installs into the bed frame easily.

42 Inch Frame Width Extension Set These extension sets convert the standard 35 inch wide PrimeCare bed frames into 42 inch wide bed frames (bed models 301, 601 and 901). The increased width provides some extra elbow room for patients who need it. The kits install and uninstall easily with simple hand tools.There are two different extension set models with different item numbers:

• SP01PCBA42WE matches bed model 901 (SP01PCB901)

Mattress Width Expander This mattress width expander is designed to be used with any of the 80 inch long Primus Transcend mattresses. It converts a 35-inch wide mattress to a 42-inch wide mattress.The width expander has dual 3 1/2 inch wide expanders, one on each side, and a thick top foam layer that work together to fully enclose the mattress. A nylon top cover holds the mattress and the expander pieces together. The bottom of the cover includes fastening straps used to strap the mattress to the bed frame.
