PressureGuard APM² Safety Supreme, manufactured by Span America, is an alternating pressure mattress with multi-mode air therapy and a raised safety perimeter to increase patient safety. This alternating pressure mattress is designed to enhance fall prevention and avoid entrapment, while simultaneously protecting the patient's skin integrity. Each mattress comes with a control unit/pump.

To effectively alleviate pain, this pressure mattress features a multi-functioning control unit that allows an individual to acutely control air therapy. The air system times the "auto firm" mode loading across the surface in 20-minute increments for transfers, activities of daily living, and, if necessary, cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

In addition to the auto firm mode, the Span America Alternating Safety Supreme Alternating Pressure Mattress mattress features an "alternate" mode that operates in 10-minute cycles. This mode gives the user control for lateral rotation or alternating pressure therapy.

These flexible treatments, though, are just the beginning. Once you have found a therapeutic, alternative pressure, you can select the "float" mode to suspend alternation while sustaining ideal pressures.
