Description
Who Uses the Orfitube System? Clinicians use this customized orthosis to treat patients who have injured hand joints with nerve or soft tissue damage.
Why They Love It: The system uses lightweight outrigger attachments to create a mobilization orthosis after tendon surgery and nerve injuries. The system is lightweight and easy to bend or shape while also being extremely supportive. It has a more refined and elegant look than other, clumsier orthoses.
Orfitube Kit Overview
The Orfitube System allows clinicians to quickly create a dynamic hand orthosis using an outrigger and braided elastic. Outriggers connect to thermoplastic material that's shaped to the patient's needs. Orfitube provides accurate alignment and support for the joints in the hand and wrist. Its compact design lets clinicians fix adjusters on each individual finger as needed without disturbing the others. The tubes don't need any heat and adjust at a cold temperature.
The Orfitube kit includes spools of elastic thread in varying resistance levels and strengths, non-elastic thread, two bending rods, and 10 30cm long Orfitubes. Each tube guides and protects the braided elastic that serves as part of the outrigger system. End caps help prevent fraying of the elastic thread as it glides past the end of each Orfitube. The Single Orfitube Adjuster puts clinicians in full control of longitudinal and lateral position of the Orfitubes. Vitality Medical carries a full line of wrist splints and hand braces.
