The OrCam Smart Reader is a handheld text-to-speech device that assists with independent reading. At just under 2 ounces, the OrCam Smart Reading Tool is small enough that it can fit into most pockets and purses. It has a small speaker built into it but can also connect to Bluetooth devices or headphones for privacy or reading in quiet spaces. The device can capture full pages of text and reads everything back in real time in English or Spanish. It does not need an internet connection to function properly and does not store information, making it completely secure. The device can even work in low-light situations and includes a convenient LED light to illuminate text. Finally, the device includes a rechargeable battery that provides up to 4 hours of active use.

Will this device store credit card information?
No. The MyEye 2.0 can read credit card information but it will not store or save it.

Does this device have cloud storage of any kind?
No.

Does the OrCam Read Smart device need to connect to the internet for any reason?
Software updates only occur when the device is connected to the internet. Otherwise, no internet connection is needed.

Will this translate Spanish to English?
No. The device reads and communicates in both languages, but it will not translate one to the other.

Will this device enable users to watch television?
No. The device will not improve eyesight and does not enable users to watch television.

Is this waterproof?
No. It is water resistant and can stand light rain or drizzle for a short period of time. Please note that the manufacturer does not recommend getting this device wet.

Can this be used with headphones?
Yes.

Can this device transfer scanned pages to another device?
No.
