Medline Optifoam Non-Adhesive Foam Wound Dressings are a primary wound dressing designed to absorb medium to high excretion in order to maintain an effective healing environment. Made of soft foam, it contains no rubber latex and moves with the needs of the user. The foam absorbs fluids coming from the wound, while at the same time has a waterproof protective outer layer. This helps to control the healing environment to reduce the growth of harmful bacteria and maintain proper hygiene.
Optifoam Non-Adhesive Foam Dressings have an adjustable MVTR (moisture vapor transmission rate) that not only pulls liquid from the wound, but leaves enough moisture so that it does not dry out. This feature promotes breathability and adapts to the needs of the wound and allows the wound to be used for up to seven days without needing to change the dressing. The dressing contains no adhesive, which means it will need a secondary dressing of tape or bandage wrap in order to keep it in place.
Optifoam Non-Adhesive Dressings come fully sterile so they can be placed onto wounds with peace of mind. It comes in two different sizes. Choose from the four inch by four inch or the six inch by six inch foam dressing to cover most wounds with one dressing. For smaller wounds, the dressing is able to be cut to the size needed. Both sizes come with the option of educational packaging in order to ensure the safety of the patient.
