Overview

Nasco Life/form Ostomy Care Training Models Set provides five stoma examples to educate caregivers and patients with a stoma about the essentials of ostomy care. Each anatomical model, manufactured by Nasco, is created to be realistic in both function and appearance. Its pliable surface gives students tactile sensation as they learn about the spectrum of stoma types with healthy and unhealthy stomal tissue. The models give hands-on training on how to clean and care for a stoma and apply a pouching system. The functioning models take it a further step with tubing to inject Life/form simulated stool through the colostomy sites for irrigation. Do not use other brands of simulated stool or it will void the warranty.

The Functioning and Nonfunctioning Ostomy Care Training Models are available in a set of five or individually. All models come with a five-year warranty.

• E. Necrotic Ostomy Care Training Model - Functioning necrotic model featuring black stoma due to limited blood supply

Simulator Procedures

Simulator Care Instructions

1. After each use, rinse immediately with warm water.
2. If needed, use mild soap and water to remove any stains.
3. Clean the syringe, stopcock, and tubing with warm water to remove any simulated stool.
4. Drain any excess fluid and dry before storing it the provided corrugated box.

Cautions

• Do not place the models on top of newspaper or any printed surface as these materials will transfer ink and stain the model.
• Do not substitute simulated stool with another brand or it will void the warranty.
